Mould remediation costs — guidance, not a quote

Mould remediation is priced after an on-site assessment of moisture source, extent and materials. These factors move the cost up or down.

What drives the cost

  • How far mould and moisture have spread — one surface versus wall cavities, insulation and whole rooms.
  • Materials affected: drywall, timber, carpet, tile grout, contents.
  • Containment and PPE needed while materials are removed.
  • Whether HVAC or ductwork is involved and needs specialist attention.
  • Drying and moisture monitoring after the source is fixed.
  • Access: crawl spaces, attics, multi-storey and occupied homes.
  • Whether materials can be cleaned versus removed and rebuilt.

Insurance

Whether and how much your insurer or landlord policy pays depends on the contract and the cause (for example a covered leak versus long-term condensation). Photograph damage, keep samples of removed materials if asked, and request a written scope before work begins.

Why there is no price list here

Two mould jobs that look similar in photos can need very different containment, material removal and drying, so any fixed price would be guesswork. Public guidance is linked below.
